      Split Leather Upper

The perforated leather improves the breathability of waterproof Gore-Tex lining.

      Gore-Tex® Lining

Allows for moisture and sweat to escape while preventing water from entering from the outside.

      Medium Flex Stabilizer Full Length

      Provides sturdy underfoot support.

      LOWA MONOWRAP® Frame

Reduces overall boot weight without compromising flexibility.

      Closed Lace Hooks

Prevents the laces from getting caught on objects upon contact.

      Polyurethane (PU) Midsole

Added cushioned comfort will last longer on the trail. PU midsoles do not deform under heavy packloads so you can carry more without compromising weight and flexibility.

      LOWA® Tactical Z Trac® Outsole

The advantage of a rubber outsole is its good grip on varying surfaces so you have the most control on slippery terrain. It is also heat and cold insulating, antistatic and resistant to contact heat, oil and fuel.

      Invest In Your Comfort

You invest a lot of time, money and effort in your outdoor adventures, so it makes sense that you invest in the most comfortable, durable footwear you can find.

Durable, versatile, comfortable, best boot ever

I've had the 8" version of this boot for 8 years. I've worn them in the bush all around Australia, strapped snowshoes on them in in the high country in winter, trudged them through mud in the jungle in Malaysia, and worn them across glaciers and lava fields in Iceland. All of this while carrying heavy loads. I've never had blister, a wet foot, or any injury while wearing these - they've kept my feet secure, comfortable, and dry the entire time. I can't praise these boots enough!

Need the WIDE VERSION in Australia. - Lowa Z-8S GTX C

Walking the Camino de Santiago in 2024 - an 800 km trek over three months across northern Spain with a light back pack (<15kg). Not sponsored, paid full retail. Footwear will make or break my pilgrimage, due to arthritic ankle and very broad feet. Got a 2nd mortgage and bought BOTH a pair of Lowa Tibet Wides AND (a few months later) a pair of Lowa Z-8S GTX C's to ensure I take the best boot on Camino.

Summary - Truly splitting hairs, but will take the Z-8s on Camino. If I was carrying a heavier pack, definitely the Tibet Wides. Slight weight advantage to Z-8 and they are more flexible - makes the Z-8s slightly more comfortable due to the lighter pack weights involved. However the Z-8s are just b-a-r-e-l-y wide enough to fit my foot. If your pack weighs over 15 kg - use the Tibet Wides.

Positives - Z-8s are extremely comfortable - have been walking 20 - 25km training walks with a 11kg pack and either boot handles it perfectly. I take the same size boot (13 UK) in both the Z-8S & Tibet Wide. My Z-8s are 300 grams lighter per boot than my Tibet Wides. BOTH provide superb support for my arthritic ankle. Extremely high quality materials and construction. Z-8s is more flexible and was wore-in within a couple of days use. The closed loop lacing system is awesome once you've used it a few times. Fully waterproof & breathes very well. Nice & flexible for driving. Ideal for fishing, stalking, 4WDing, or general use in the bush. Can walk very quietly in the Z-8s when needed (ie for stalking). Feel I could run in the Z-8s while I could not with the Tibet Wide. Highly, highly recommend either boot. The Tibet Wide is better when carrying a heavier pack.

4 stars not 5 - only because not quite wide enough. It's their ONLY Bad Point - not quite wide enough for a broad Aussie foot. Inner soles are pretty firm, and if I changed them for an after market soft one there is not enough room in the boot for my big, broad foot. However, once you know what size Lowa you take, order from elsewhere if Lowa Australia doesn't bring the Z-8s WIDE version into Australia.

The most comfortable boots I've worn

These truely are excellent boots. Light, comfortable, good support and enough ridgidity in the sole to be safe. They are completely water proof and will be my "go to" boots on most hunts ( my Tibets are very jealous).

      Lowa Z-8s GTX

Awesome boots, used on a bowhunting trip in cape york queensland. They are very comfortable and water proof when I had to quietly cross a shallow part of a dam to reach pigs on the other side. Will be recommending them to mates. One thing that would be good to see in a hunting boot for north queensland though is quick release lace system so that they can be slipped off quickly for close stalks on dry crunchy ground.
