Absolute total change to foot comfort in these boots

These boots have changed my hiking experience. Previously to these boots, my feet gradually got more uncomfortable the longer I wore hiking boots. After a broken ankle, I decided to invest in some higher quality leather boots and ankle support was a priority. These Lowa boots fit my feet and heels perfectly, and the padding at the back of the ankle ensures day long comfort and support. The lacing system means I only tie them once and don't have to readjust as the day goes on. Also, they needed minimum wearing in and were comfortable straight out of the box. Thank you for prioritising quality and providing a higher level of enjoyment because of it.

Amazing Boots But They Mash My Toes

I am sadly disappointed by these boots. Make no mistake, these are amazing boots. The materials and construction are first class and they look great. Unfortunately, for my foot, the toe box is not wide enough. I tried these boots on in a store and while standing they felt amazingly comfortable. Unfortunately, when trying to walk in them my toes and ball of my foot become extremely sore; the ball of my foot burns. Surprisingly, no blisters, just this unbearable pain. I persisted for a while, thinking that the shoe would soften or my foot would get used to it, but the pain only got worse and happened sooner on each walk. I can only surmise that this is due to the shape of my foot. My foot is wider than normal, but not extra wide and most wide-fit shoes are fine. My toes, however, are very short and so, perhaps the end of my foot doesn't taper as would be the case for someone with the same length foot, but more "toe". I wish this website had a section where people could sell second-hand Lowa boots as mine are barely worn (virtually as new) and I am out $579.

      Extremely Happy

I purchased these boots about a month ago and have been extremely impressed by them, my first walk was in the snow, my feet stayed warm and dry (but I was wearing waterproof socks as a precaution due to getting wet feet in previous boots).
Second hike was in one of the wettest places in Tasmania, where most of the tracks are full of water, (again with waterproof socks) and again my feet stayed warm and dry.. traction on them was a bit slippery, but they were new boots and I was still wearing them in...
My last hike was in ice and snow at Cradle Mountain, and this time I only wore my thin hiking socks and my feet were warm and dry the whole 3 days we were there with one hike we were in ankle deep water for around an hour or more, and while everyone else had wet and cold feet, I was nice and dry and happy!

      Just awesome!

Key reasons for this is the awesome Vibram Apptrail sole, its lug design is self-cleaning, which means you have better grip for longer periods, the “Lowa Flex” -floating lace system makes these boats extremely comfortable and the 5mm to 3mm nylon midsole creates a solid platform to stand on and provide great support for your foot, as well as piece of mind, that when running, your steps are going to hold even in steep uneven ground. I also found wearing them with the super comfy Thorlo socks helped with wearing them in, as usually with new shoes or boots I get horrendous blisters, but even after a 2 hour walk the first time I was out in them, I had no pressure sores or blisters which were awesome. This is due to the padding the socks provide in the forefoot and heal. We've been out in the bush testing them out for 6 months now and there's no way I'm going back to that red ban tan line.
